Brecon Special Reserve Gin is an award-winning Welsh London Dry Gin produced by Penderyn Distillery, combining traditional distilling techniques with carefully selected botanicals to create a smooth, refreshing and beautifully balanced spirit. Crafted using exceptionally pure water from the Brecon Beacons, it reflects the quality and character that have made Penderyn one of Wales’ most respected distilleries. 

Before Penderyn became internationally renowned for reviving Welsh single malt whisky, the distillery introduced Brecon Special Reserve Gin in 2001 while its first whisky casks were quietly maturing. The gin quickly established its own reputation, showcasing the same dedication to craftsmanship, quality ingredients and innovation that would later define the Penderyn name.

Named after the spectacular Brecon Beacons National Park, the gin celebrates one of Wales’ most beautiful landscapes. The region’s exceptionally pure natural spring water forms the foundation of every bottle, contributing to its crisp, clean character and remarkable smoothness.

Brecon Special Reserve Gin is distilled using a combination of fine column still spirit and Penderyn’s own copper pot spirit before being infused with ten carefully selected botanicals. Juniper sits at the heart of the recipe, complemented by coriander seed, lemon peel, orange peel, cassia bark, cinnamon, liquorice root, angelica root, nutmeg and orris root, creating a classic London Dry profile with subtle warming spice and bright citrus freshness.

Smooth, elegant and exceptionally versatile, Brecon Special Reserve Gin is equally enjoyable in a classic gin and tonic, a dry Martini or a wide range of premium gin cocktails, making it a superb introduction to premium Welsh gin.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh piney juniper with bright lemon and orange citrus, gentle spice and delicate aromatic botanicals.
