Johnnie Walker Double Black Blended Scotch Whisky is a bold, smoky interpretation of the legendary Johnnie Walker Black Label — created to amplify the deeper, more intense side of the famous blend.

Developed by Master Blender Jim Beveridge and first released in 2010, Double Black began life as an experimental travel retail exclusive. Its success with whisky drinkers around the world led to a wider release, establishing it as a permanent expression within the Johnnie Walker family.

Rather than simply changing the original Black Label recipe, Double Black was crafted to explore a different flavour direction. By moving away from an age statement, the blending team gained greater freedom to focus on intensity, character, and balance.

The whisky draws inspiration from the smoky elements found within Black Label, increasing the influence of powerful West Coast and Island malts. Combined with maturation in heavily charred oak casks, this creates a richer, deeper profile with enhanced smoke, spice, and complexity.

Its distinctive dark glass bottle reflects the whisky inside — a more dramatic expression designed around bold flavour and a richer drinking experience.
