The story of Jura begins on the Isle of Jura, a wild and beautiful island in Scotland’s Inner Hebrides, renowned for its dramatic landscapes, roaming red deer and close-knit community of around 200 residents. Originally founded in 1810, the distillery later fell silent before being rebuilt in 1963, helping to revive the island’s economy while preserving its proud whisky-making heritage for future generations.

Although located just across the water from Islay, famous for its heavily peated whiskies, Jura follows its own distinctive path. The distillery’s exceptionally tall copper stills create a lighter, cleaner spirit by allowing only the finest vapours to continue through distillation. The result is Jura’s signature style – smooth, fruity and elegant rather than intensely smoky.

Introduced in 2023 as the successor to the popular Jura Journey expression, Jura American Bourbon Cask is matured exclusively in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. The casks impart layers of creamy vanilla, soft toffee and gentle oak while complementing the whisky’s bright citrus fruit, ripe apricot and subtle salted caramel character.

Presented in Jura’s iconic curved bottle inspired by the island’s heritage, Jura American Bourbon Cask is an exceptionally approachable single malt.
