Ableforth’s Rumbullion! Rum is a rich, full-bodied premium spiced rum that combines carefully selected Caribbean rum with an expertly balanced blend of warming spices. Inspired by Britain’s maritime heritage and the golden age of seafaring, it delivers exceptional depth, bold flavour and an unmistakable old-world character.

Created by the innovative spirits makers behind Professor Cornelius Ampleforth, Rumbullion! was introduced in 2011 with a simple ambition: to create a spiced rum with greater richness, complexity and personality than the styles traditionally available. Rather than relying on sweetness alone, every botanical was carefully chosen to complement the natural character of the rum.

The unusual name “Rumbullion!” originates from a 17th-century English word meaning a great commotion or uproar. It was one of the earliest terms associated with Caribbean cane spirits, perfectly capturing the adventurous reputation that rum earned among sailors, merchants and explorers during the great age of sail.

At the heart of Rumbullion! is a carefully selected Caribbean rum infused with Madagascan Bourbon vanilla, Seville orange peel, cinnamon, cloves and aromatic cardamom. These ingredients create a beautifully layered flavour profile that balances rich sweetness with warming spice and bright citrus freshness.

The distinctive presentation reflects the spirit’s maritime inspiration. Every bottle is wrapped in brown paper, finished with twine and sealed with wax, creating the appearance of a rare bottle recovered from another era.
