Produced at the historic Talisker Distillery on the shores of Loch Harport, Skye captures the maritime character that has made the distillery famous while presenting it in a softer, more accessible style.

Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, Talisker remains the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye. Surrounded by mountains, coastline, and unpredictable island weather, the distillery has created a whisky style recognised for its combination of smoke, sweetness, and signature pepper spice.

The distillery’s resilience became part of its story in 1960 when a major fire damaged the still house. Determined to protect Talisker’s distinctive character, the copper stills were carefully recreated to preserve the whisky’s original style.

Talisker Skye was created as a modern interpretation of this island character. Matured using a combination of refill and toasted American oak casks, the whisky places greater emphasis on sweetness, rounded texture, and balance while maintaining Talisker’s famous coastal personality.

The result is a whisky that combines gentle smoke, sea salt, citrus freshness, sweet oak, and the distinctive warming pepper finish known as the Talisker “chilli catch”.

Tasting Notes
