Description
Johnnie Walker Black Label 12-Year-Old Blended Scotch Whisky is one of the world’s most iconic whisky expressions — a benchmark for premium blended Scotch built on consistency, craftsmanship, and more than two centuries of blending expertise.
The story began in the early 1800s when John Walker started blending whiskies in his grocery shop in Kilmarnock, Scotland. At a time when individual casks could vary greatly in quality and flavour, blending allowed Walker to create a more reliable and balanced whisky experience for his customers.
In 1865, John’s son Alexander Walker created the celebrated “Old Highland Whisky”, a premium blend designed to showcase depth, complexity, and consistency. Alexander also introduced two features that would become instantly recognisable worldwide — the square bottle, created to improve durability during shipping, and the distinctive angled label designed to stand out.
By 1909, customers were already identifying Walker whiskies by their label colours, leading to the official introduction of the Johnnie Walker Black Label name. Around the same period, the famous Striding Man symbol was created, representing progress, ambition, and the forward-moving spirit of the brand.
Today, Johnnie Walker Black Label continues that legacy as a masterfully crafted blend of malt and grain whiskies from across Scotland. Each whisky used in the blend is matured for a minimum of 12 years, creating exceptional depth and balance.
Combining influences from renowned Scottish whisky regions, Black Label delivers layers of rich fruit, sweet vanilla, warming spice, and a signature touch of gentle smoke.
Smooth, complex, and unmistakably recognisable, Johnnie Walker Black Label remains a true classic of Scotch whisky.
