The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a tribute to the pioneering spirit of George Smith, the founder of one of Scotland’s most famous Speyside distilleries.

The story of The Glenlivet began in 1824 when George Smith became one of the first distillers in the remote Livet Valley to obtain an official licence. At a time when illegal whisky production was widespread, Smith’s decision helped shape the future of Scotch whisky and establish The Glenlivet as a benchmark for smooth, elegant single malt.

Created by Master Distiller Alan Winchester, Founder’s Reserve was designed to honour George Smith’s original vision — producing a whisky known for its approachable character, fruity style, and exceptional smoothness.

Unlike traditional age-statement expressions, Founder’s Reserve focuses on flavour consistency and cask selection. The whisky is matured using a combination of traditional oak casks and first-fill American oak casks, which contribute rich vanilla sweetness, creamy texture, and enhanced depth.

The influence of first-fill American oak complements The Glenlivet’s signature Speyside character, bringing together bright orchard fruits, citrus freshness, soft sweetness, and gentle spice.
