Mimosa Rwm Espíritu is a premium Welsh coffee rum liqueur inspired by one of the most remarkable stories in Welsh history. Created by Welsh rugby legend Alun Wyn Jones, it celebrates the enduring connection between Wales and Patagonia, bringing together heritage, adventure and exceptional flavour in a uniquely Welsh spirit.

The inspiration begins with the voyage of the Mimosa, the ship that sailed from Liverpool on 28 May 1865 carrying more than 150 Welsh settlers to Patagonia, Argentina. Seeking to preserve their language, traditions and culture, the settlers established thriving Welsh communities whose influence remains evident in Patagonia to this day.

More than 140 years later, Patagonia became personally significant to Alun Wyn Jones when he made his international debut for Wales against Argentina in Puerto Madryn on 11 June 2006. Standing in the very region shaped by those Welsh pioneers created a powerful connection between his own journey and the remarkable history of the Mimosa.

The number 158 carries special significance. It marks the 158 years between the Mimosa’s historic voyage in 1865 and the creation of Mimosa Rwm Espíritu in 2023. It also represents Alun Wyn Jones’ record of 158 international Test appearances, linking two extraordinary journeys built on courage, determination and Welsh pride.
