A family has been reunited with their beloved cat missing for 10 years, after Charlie was finally found safe and well.
Charlie was just three years old when she went missing in 2016, shortly after her family moved to a new area. Despite months of searching, asking around and posting appeals online, there was no sign of her.
Then, a decade later, came the phone call they never expected.
Charlie had been found living in bushes near Abercarn in South Wales, where a local resident had been feeding her before eventually taking her to a veterinary practice.
Thankfully, Charlie had been microchipped. The vet scanned the chip, found her family’s details and made the extraordinary call to tell them their long-lost cat had been found.
Even better, that call came on owner Lucy Robertson’s 30th birthday.
After ten years apart, Charlie reportedly recognised her family straight away. Remarkably, she was also found in good health and is now back home, enjoying plenty of food and attention while getting reacquainted with family life.
Nobody knows quite what Charlie got up to during her decade away.
Perhaps some adventures are destined to remain a mystery.
Welcome home, Charlie. 🐾
